Hi, I am 17 and in High School. I'm a virgin... in fact I haven't ever kissed a girl. I have very little friends that are girls, because I don't know how to approach them. When I am around a girl that I am attracted to, I become very shy. I need some advice, I am lonely and need a girlfriend. I need all the help I can get... Thanks.

Dear Need a Date,

The best, and most successful, way I've seen when it comes to this it getting to know someone when you share a mutual interest. Asking someone from school (for example) out on a date adds all this pressure and expectations that I think is harder to deal with. Becoming involved in clubs, co-ed sports, Church, or things like that give you the unfortunately to grow friendships with girls who like some of the same things you do.

And don't believe anyone when they that you "risk ruining the friendship". I mean, you can ruin the friendship, but it's worth the risk for sure. The only place to be careful of is to not misinterpret the intentions of the girls who really do just want to be friends.

Last thing, every guy I know who didn't have much luck dating in high school found it much different when they got out. There will still be stuck up girls with attitudes, but the majority of them lose that whole click thing the day high school ends.
